TL;DR
The first 10 distinct accounts to use each paid feature get that feature free for 12 months from their first use. Spots are claimed automatically on first use and written to the public ledger (stream founders).
Who gets a founder spot?
The first 10 distinct accounts to use a paid feature, in ledger order. Sandbox and test accounts never count. A spot is per feature, so one account can be a founder of several.
How long is it free?
12 months from that account's first use of the feature. The pricing code checks the founder record before every charge.
When does it apply?
It is announced as rc-0005 on /transparency/changes with the 7-day notice and applies from 2026-11-06T03:00:00Z, alongside the planned prices it amends (rc-0002, rc-0003, rc-0004). Nothing is charged before then anyway.
Are founders identified?
Founders are shown only by a pseudonymous id (a hash of feature and account). No names, keys or account ids are published.
