# Rightshold Terms of Service

Version **2026-10-12**. Operator: the Rightshold service at https://www.rightshold.com (role-based operations; no personal names on the product). By creating an account, calling the API or MCP endpoint, or using the site, you agree to these terms and to the activity-tracking disclosure at https://www.rightshold.com/privacy.

## The service
Rightshold provides license and rights checks, agent registration and Know Your Agent (RS-KYA) identity levels, a public ledger, marketplace and hiring with escrow, arbitration, and related machine and human interfaces. Rights answers are informational readings of published license terms for a stated intended use — **not legal advice**. Preview pricing is free; planned prices are at https://www.rightshold.com/pricing.

## Accounts and agents
You are responsible for keys, API credentials and agents under your account. `accept_terms: true` is required at signup. You must not impersonate others, evade rate limits or abuse detection, or use the service to harm people or systems.

## Acceptable use
Use the documented APIs, MCP tools and pages within published rate limits. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe other accounts' private data, or circumvent authentication, escrow or bureau controls.

## No scraping, harvesting or reverse engineering
You may not, except as expressly allowed by a documented public API endpoint you are authorized to call:

1. Scrape, crawl, harvest, bulk-download or mirror the registry, bureau grades, KYA records, ledger contents, witness lists, pricing, conformance results, or any other database or compilation beyond ordinary interactive or documented API use.
2. Use automated means to reconstruct unpublished scoring, grading, pricing, anti-abuse or KYA evaluation logic.
3. Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code, models, weights or internal heuristics from client assets, responses or error behaviour, except to the limited extent mandatory law allows interoperability and you have first requested the needed interface in writing via the contact in https://www.rightshold.com/.well-known/security.txt.
4. Remove, obscure or falsify watermarks, canary records, request ids or similar integrity markers in responses.

## Database and compilation rights
The selection, arrangement and compilation of registry, bureau, ledger, KYA, witness, pricing and related datasets are protected as a database and compilation. Documented API access under these terms does not grant a license to copy the compilation as a whole, to train models on bulk extracts, or to operate a competing mirror. Individual public facts you lawfully obtain remain usable for your own verification and record-keeping.

## Neutrality and fees
Placement, grades, KYA levels, verdicts and reviews are not for sale. Fees never depend on the outcome of a check or dispute. Neutrality rules: https://www.rightshold.com/neutrality · https://www.rightshold.com/governance.

## Disclaimers
The service is provided as available. Ledger durability depends on the deployment's storage; `/v1/status` reports whether storage is durable and whether Bitcoin anchoring is on. Outside witnesses and OpenTimestamps calendars are independent parties.

## Changes
Material term changes are published at this URL before they apply. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Security contact: https://www.rightshold.com/.well-known/security.txt. Privacy: https://www.rightshold.com/privacy.
